Shampooing: 

No matter how little or how much hair you have, you need to take care of it.  Even though your hair is dead, your scalp is alive and needs to be well.  The hair that gives you a ‘good or bad hair day’ is actually the hair shaft.  The hair follicle is at the root of the shaft and the follicle is the living part of your hair.  So, good scalp health is essential to healthy hair.

Keeping a healthy blood flow to the scalp stimulates hair growth.  Keeping your hair (scalp) clean will increase the circulation which will increase the growth of thicker, healthier hair.  Many shampoos leave residues that clog the pores of the scalp or irritate the scalp.  Look for a shampoo that does not leave a residue.

Conditioning: 

Grooming your hair with the right conditioner is very important.  Conditioners moisturize, detangle, and reconstruct your hair.  When you wash your hair, you are stripping away your natural oils.  But, if you didn’t shampoo, you would have dirty, greasy hair.  Unfortunately, our natural oils like to attract natural dirt.

After shampooing, a good conditioner can restore the oil, as well as, hold moisture in your hair.  Many conditioners contain a protein that will penetrate your hair to strengthen it.   Conditioners also restore balance and give your hair elasticity and shine.
